Melrose Market is home to Rain Shadow Meats, Sitka & Spruce, Butter Home, Homegrown, Glasswing, Greenfire Products and Honor Society Coffee, It is a one-stop shop for shoppers and diners in the heart of Seattle.
The market is located in Capitol Hill, down the road from First Hill and on the same side of the street as a number of popular oyster bars.
I stumbled upon it one afternoon while prepping for a barbecue. I left Rain Shadow Meats with a selection of sausages, steaks and a charcuterie board. I also picked up a half sandwich from Homegrown. I met Clare, the owner of Butter Home, a retailer of local jewelry, cool posters and printed bags. Her items added the perfect decorative touch to my apartment.
The vendors are all friendly, knowledgeable and non-unpretentious.
The market lends itself to some beautiful pictures. A two story building with high beams and exposed brick, Melrose Market Studies located upstairs, has been used to host weddings and other occasions.
