Paseo in Fremont always has a line-up but you won't regret the wait. On warmer days, people park themselves on the benches outside and feast on the huge Caribbean Roast sandwiches. Whether I stay or go, I always grab a stack full of napkins to sop up the juices.
The staff behind the counter is friendly. You’re bound to meet somebody interesting every time you go there. It is one of those places that people keep coming back to, whether it is locals, families or out-of-towners. And there is no question why; the food is fantastic.
The Roast is the most popular, but the Paseo Press with ham and cheese and elevated flavors comes in a close second. I personally like the chicken thigh sandwiches with lettuce, jalapeños and caramelized onions.
It wasn’t until recently that I discovered the scallops in red sauce. A little light on the spice, I would consider asking for level 5 hotness. The meal isn’t complete without one of the corn on the cobs wrapped in foil and smothered in aioli sauce.
Come hungry. Share. Or swap.
