Speckled and Drake Seattle – Keeping it casual

""Speckled and Drake" in Seattle is a tiny bar at the edge of Capitol Hill. I like its intimate feel, happy hour and the shot and beer combos..."

This tiny bar sits on the bottom edge of Capitol Hill helping providing a laid-back place for residents to unwind on their way back from work. Their shot and beer combos are the perfect work detox. If you're planning to do a bit more you can get a "stupid," one of their many witty whiskey and beer pairings. I recently discovered their bomb happy hour deal: a sandwich and a pint for $10!

The warmly lit small wood paneled space is comfortable with quirky duck mounts on the walls. It's a toss up whether to sit at the bar or gaze down on patrons from the loft. Speckled is conveniently located next door to a savory pie shop which comes in handy when your stomach wants something more than beer.

I like the intimate feel of Speckled and Drake and unlike some bars on the Hill it's possible to have a conversation here without having to repeat everything twice. Speckled is a great place to put your feet up after a busy day and before a busy night.
