Gelateria Naturale is my favourite ice-cream place in Sofia and it is described as the first Italian artisan ice-cream in the city with 100% natural ingredients. This means that they use only milk, cream, unrefined sugar and eggs from local farms. You will also find vegan ice-cream and ice-cream with no added sugar there.
The gelateria is a small place on the popular Shishman Str., usually crowded on the weekends but this should not stop you from trying their divine ice-cream. It is a cosy spot and you may also have a cup of coffee or eat some snacks there.
Usually there are no more than 10 types of ice-cream flavours which depends on what is in season. My all-time favourites are the dark chocolate, peanut butter and organic cocoa ice-cream.
If you happen to be there in the autumn - try the chestnut or pumpkin flavour; if you are here for spring - lavender is a good choice, and don't ever miss the strawberry or raspberry sorbet ice-cream!
If you can't decide which one to choose, it is fine to taste some of the flavours before buying - just ask the staff.
Note: you may also find Gelateria Naturale's ice-cream stalls in some shopping centers (Serdika Center) or outside in the trendy city spots and festivals during the summer months.
You can follow Gelateria Naturale on Instagram as well.
