Here I am, sitting and writing this article about Lime… in Lime. A café, a bar, a light-bite and dessert stop, a place to work in or to just people-watch – you name it. Lime is friendly and cozy, and has it all.
Lime is one of those places where you can have a relaxed chat with friends or just come to ponder on your own. Conveniently positioned in the centre, behind the trees on Graf Ignatiev Str., it fosters all kinds of people, from the digital nomads through the middle-aged people craving a calm afternoon coffee with cake, to the ones who need a drink after a hard day. The sockets under every table and the fast, free Internet together with the delicious cappuccino and lime cake (its specialty) make it an all-day favorite, while in the evenings it attracts with its small but varied choice of alcoholic drinks and light snacks. My personal experience shows it is ideal for a late afternoon coffee that slowly turns into a calm night out with mulled or raspberry wine and sweet chats.
The music is usually rhythmic and mostly jazzy, accompanied by the sounds of the passing trams. The atmosphere is intimate, as the place is small and the tables are quite close to each other. Lime has an outdoor seating area, where you can enjoy the vibrating city (and a cigarette, if you wish). I love the impeccable service, which makes it even harder to leave after that first coffee.
