Mimas is probably the most famous Arabic fast food establishment in Sofia. They started in the early '90s and garnered huge popularity due to the fact that they were located in a very central location and were always open until late.
Even though there are now loads of döner places in Sofia, Mimas is still probably the most famous one and is only challenged by Aladin. Still if you want to grab a döner or a falafel at any time of day or the night and are close by - Mimas would be a good choice.
Even though their döners are not that great, what amazes me really is their consistency over the years. In over 15 years that I have been trying their food they've never ever changed the taste of it. It is a remarkable consistency that you could only experience with big international fast food chains.
I would personally recommend their shish taouk - it is really really great and I love it and also their falafels. The burgers aren't bad, but they are nothing as close to a real burger, but rather Arabic style burgers. Do not forget to ask for extra sauce for the falafels too!
"J.J. Murphy's" is probably the most a "pub" can offer in Sofia from its great beers and hearty food to accompany a Premier League match on a weekday.
