The Hague

Spotter since 2020

About me

About me
I am a father, husband, writer and teacher (in that order). I emigrated to Den Haag in 2016 and haven't looked back since. While I wait (anxiously!) for permanent residency, I write fiction for pleasure and work as an editor and translator for the Dutch and European professional sphere.

Why The Hague
The Hague consistently refuses to adhere to any stereotypes. Is it a government town? A beach town? A melting pot, or the cradle of bluebloods? Is it an expat town or a traditional fishing village? Really, Den Haag is all of these and more. It's never going to win a nightlight competition versus Amsterdam or Rotterdam, but something different and special emerges the longer you're here and the more you listen: a beacon of authenticity.

Where else can you find me online?
Well, I have my own professional website to reinforce my English editing business, which I am happy to share, but I prefer to keep my online presence minimal--come find me in reality!
