About me
I am an illustrator who lives in a jungle-like flat in Moda neighborhood of Istanbul. I was born and raised here in the same area.
I am a big fan of all kinds of traveling; within walking distance, somewhere in Turkey or abroad. Capturing a unique sense of place in any area by taking pictures, sketching, writing or simply sitting back and observing while having a drink is something I am passionate about. Sharing these notions and impressions makes it even more meaningful, as everything in life becomes better when shared.
Why Istanbul
Once, my niece who lives abroad put it so nicely: 'In Istanbul, you could never know, it might smell heavenly with a whiff of Doner a moment and next minute all your senses get overwhelmed with something rotten.'
One thing certain about Istanbul is that it is always unpredictable. I would also claim that it is crazy, tranquil, filthy, nostalgic, cutting-edge, Eastern, and European; all things at the same time, which I think makes things kind of un-boring.
Tünel, İstanbul’s 1875 funicular, and its 1883 arcade offer bookstores, restaurants and wine bars amid historic buildings with a unique atmosphere.
