Manouche Munich

Manouche – Munich's first Lebanese bakery

"Manouche" in Munich is a Lebanese restaurant that specialises in their namesake, a small Lebanese pizza. I'd like to eat there every day, all day...

Zur Gruam Munich

Zur Gruam – Get lost in pit

"Zur Gruam" Munichis was once a place where many illegal and suspicious activities took place but has now turned into a bar, with a dangerous nostalgia.

The Flushing Meadows Munich

The Flushing Meadows – Matchpoint

"The Flushing Meadows" in Munich reminds me of tennis, not a hotel with a rooftop bar. The point is that it's one of the best hidden rooftops in the city.

Trattoria Da Paolo Munich

Trattoria Da Paolo – Delicious Sardinia

"Trattoria Da Paolo" is a typical Italian restaurant in Munich, but real typical is not what you might expect... The owner is funny and the food excellent!

Gasthaus Isarthor Munich

Gasthaus Isarthor – The last traditional isle

"Gasthaus Isarthor" Munich is a local spot that brings back the pride of traditions and beer. This restaurant is perhaps one of the last traditional isles.

Valentin Stüberl – Bar with basement atmosphere

"Valentin Stüberl" in Munich is one of my favorite spots in my favorite district called Dreimühlenviertel. It's an all-season bar but I love it in Autumn.

About me

About me
I was born in a small village, about 40 kilometers away from Munich. At the age of 16 I began to visit Munich on weekends, just for shopping or having a coffee. When I was 20 I started to work in a picture agency as a trainee, then I changed to an advertising agency as a picture researcher. After two years I went back to a picture agency specialised on the topics food and interior. There, I started as an editor and wrote lots of small articles about interior image series.

After several years spent in the food industry, I started having my own restaurant. We are specialised on ribs and food from the smoker. Right now, my restaurant is not a spot at Spotted by Locals, but I hope my colleagues from Munich will write about it sooner or later.

I like travelling, cooking, eating, reading, writing, handicrafts work, playing the guitar and sports (swimming, surfing and boxing).

Why Munich?
Since the day I started to work in Munich, I fell in love with it. Fortunately, my colleagues showed me a lot of interesting spots. I like the fact, that Munich for me, has something village-like, but in another dimension.

It's just a one hour drive to go to the mountains or big lakes like Starnberger See. In Munich there is so much culture, very nice old buildings with character and there is a lot of tradition which the Bavarians are very proud of. But there are a lot of hidden pearls and black parties I want to show you. I hope I you share my enthusiasm!
