One of my favorites strolls in Stockholm any time of year – but especially during spring, summer or autumn – is along Kungsholms Strand. You start at the City Hall near the Central Station and continue along the northern side of the island of Kungsholmen. There is a nice path for bikes and pedestrians only with a lovely view over the water and in the summer there are plenty of opportunities to sit on a park bench and enjoy the view over the water and Vasastan on the opposite side.
While strolling along Kungsholms strand you will see plenty of sailing boats, kayaks and in the summer it is popular to go on SUP-boards. Early in the morning I have seen beavers swimming in the water and there are swans and ducks all-year-round. Sometimes there are even more exotic birds like herons, and you will probably see people fishing as you walk by as well. Considering how central Kungsholms strand is, it really is quite remarkable how near the nature you will be. If you don't want to walk back the same way you came, you have the option to take the bus back into town or take Mariedalsvägen to the left and go by subway from nearby Stadshagen.
