Well this place needs to be seen, as the written word is too weak to describe the whole place. The restaurant resides in the famous old pharmacy house that is situated on the throbbing vein of Tallinn – Viru roundabout. Tai Boh is 6 months old and has already fought its way to a place among the most popular restaurants in Tallinn.
The first sensation you get is what catches the eye. Well-known old-school designer Soho Fond has really gone wild there. The interior, brought from India, has been set up in an unbelievable mix of authentic old and kitschy new. The ceiling is covered with huge digital paintings of famous characters, depicted in the style of old baroque church ceilings.
The second sensation is of course about the people. Service there is fast, friendly, maybe sometimes even familiar but not too much. I go there for the staff mostly ;).
Third, and maybe most important, is the taste. Chef Khampan has been running the deep dark kitchens of Bangkok Hilton and Dubai. All others are also proud citizens of Thai Kingdom. The menu has quite a nice selection of various Asian cuisines. Thai classics such as Tom Yum (€ 9), Sea-bass (€ 21) and Beef Salad (€ 17). Indian curries (€ 13) and a nice selection of sashimi (€ 20). Even lobster and Kobe beef are available for those who are out for special tastes.
Tip: Book ahead for a table and be ready to spend a bit more than usual.
There is a new menu coming out any day now!
