The promotional ads of this restaurant have been circulating over the internet, but there are so many Turkish restaurants in Tashkent that I was not quite interested in visiting a new one.
However, I was recently invited to have lunch in Basri Baba with my relatives. It is in the centre of Tashkent and the building looked quite appealing to me. After entering Basri Baba, I found that the restaurant is quite big (including the terrace) but almost all tables were occupied by at least 6 people around each table. So this is not a place for romantic couples because it is very noisy and crowded. However, Basri Baba is very bright and the atmosphere is really cheerful. The visitors are always laughing, taking photos and enjoying their food.
We were met by the chef who speaks Turkish and who is very friendly. He decided to take the order himself, which looked very honorable to me. The food is premium quality in its real meaning. It was so tasty and fresh, just yummy. After tasting the food, we looked at each other and confirmed with gestures that everybody liked it.
I suggest Basri Baba for lunch with colleagues, friends and family gatherings. You will like the food and drinks.
