Minor Somsa has operated for many years in Tashkent. It was one of those places I postponed visiting as a local. So, last month I stopped by the spot, and it was the best "food" decision. Somsa is just amazing there.
Here they make it in tandyr, there is a lot of juicy meat inside, and the dough is crispy and thin. By the way, beef somsa is the only option you can have here. There is the option of getting a tomato sauce to cool down hot somsa or add a different flavour. As for drinks, they offer hot black/green tea, kompot (during summer), water and coke.
The good news is that now they offer several locations to try the taste of true Uzbek somsa. To avoid long lines, you can go to one located on Osiyo Street. For those who like to stand in line and have a final reward after a long wait, visit one close to Minor Mosque. Taste in both spots the same- fresh, crispy and delicious!
