A cozy space in Levinsky Market is home to one of Tel Aviv’s popular veggie restaurants, the kind I like to return to again and again.
Kaymak is somewhat of an institution by now. It’s been around for many years and has seen the city change over and over, but Kaymak still stays and feels the same.
The atmosphere once you step in is calm and peaceful, and though sometimes you may have to wait in line for a table, it’s worth the wait.
The menu changes daily and includes salads and pastries as quick starters, vegan and vegetarian mains, such as Indian dal, lentils with dried fruit and bean soup with rice. They also have great desserts. Everything tastes and feels like a super satisfying home-cooked meal. As an added plus, prices at Kaymak are surprisingly affordable for Tel Aviv.
The special ingredients in the food come from the market. The restaurant is ideally located in Tel Aviv’s most colourful spice market and it certainly inspires its menu.
