I try so hard to avoid desserts but somehow they find their way back to me!
Elinikon is a bakery located in three different locations, near Wilson Square, near The US Embassy and at Komuna e Parisit. I discovered my favorite one about 7 months ago, it is the one near The US Embassy. Elinikon near the embassy was recently reconstructed and it got a bigger space and a very appealing interior design.
There are so many options to choose from in there. Different types of sandwiches, homemade pie, muffins, homemade baklava (we Albanians love that), cookies, obviously bread too, but my favorites are the desserts. Made out of Milka, Lacta, Kiss and other chocolates, they taste as sweet as heaven! What's more important, the desserts are are quite light, nothing that will make you feel guilty for having a bite.
Of course in summer there is ice cream too.
Unfortunately there is no sitting area so if you decide to buy something you have to take it with you and eat it somewhere else.
The staff is very polite and willing to help everyone, even though it is full almost any time of the day.
All in all Elinikon offers many selections, all of them delicious and well made, so I recommend you give them a try!
