Korpusi (Politekniku) in fact is The Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT), a public university located on Mother Teresa Square in Tirana. It offers degrees in engineering and other related fields. This is the oldest and the second largest university in Albania. Since the building has a lot of outdoor space, unlike other campus buildings in Albania, it is often used by people to just hang around.
Cars are banned and only pedestrians and bicycles are allowed in this area. Of course it's used by families with kids to go out, people who walk their dogs and groups of teens and students converge there. You can also rent a bicycle if you want and enjoy a ride. Sometimes street artists and new bands go there to perform and play. The atmosphere is great 'cause it looks like another city, separated from the rest of Tirana.
During December, a small Christmas market takes place there. A lot of coffee and wine shops pop up in the square, and a little playground is built for both kids and adults. So if you're in the mood for some tasty vin brulé, close to a warm fireplace or want to do some ice skating, go check this awesome spot while it's still open.
