For all you fish lovers, this one is for you. Peshku I Arte, translated as The Golden Fish, is by far the best fish restaurant I personally have been to in Tirana. As is the case for a lot of Albanian restaurants, Peshku I Arte focuses on fresh produce and simple, often Italian-inspired, cooking styles.
On my most recent visit, with a relatively large group, we managed to try a number of speciality dishes, all super fresh and as delicious as the next. From marinated anchovies to mixed seafood pasta, I was not disappointed in any of the tasty morsels we tried.
I would also suggest that if you visit this restaurant, ask your server what is fresh or good that day; they will always be happy to advise you on what the chef has recommended that day. A personal favourite of mine is the fried red mullet (barbunje in Albanian) which, when fresh and in season, is truly amazing.
The position of Peshku I Arte is great for anyone travelling in Tirana by foot, as it is located just off Rruga e Elbasanit and Bulevardi Bajram Curri, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town.
The restaurant itself is sleek and modern and has a very inviting atmosphere. It is split into two rooms by bifold doors, so if you had a special occasion, I believe you would be able to book out one part of the restaurant.
