If you are in Turin you have to learn more about Vermouth and of course taste some!
Vermouth is a wine flavored with various plant parts (roots, barks, flowers, seeds, herbs, and spices); the modern version of this beverage was created in Turin by Benedetto Carpano in 1786. In fact, in Piedmont there are a lot of historical brands, like Martini, Cinzano or Cocchi.
If you want to pass a special evening and have a real “Vermouth Experience”, some enthusiastic guys organize a workshop twice a month where you can: learn about the story of Vermouth; taste some (with a “blind test” where you will not know which one you are drinking) and prepare your own vermouth!
What you have to know is that the recipe of the most famous brand are of course top secret and by preparing your own you could make something amazing that does not exist yet!
What I liked about that evening is that it was a real experience: you learn, you taste, you smell and you experiment! Plus, the teacher is very catching so it’s super exciting.
If you want to participate, you should book in advance, just write them on Facebook and you’ll receive all the information you need.
