For sure this is my favorite place in Torino to eat fish.
Trattoria da Lido is an easy going restaurant in Barriera di Milano, a particular neighborhood in Torino.
I say particular neighborhood because it always was popular (and it still is): for sure it’s not touristic and it’s absolutely authentic.
I really really like this area, because despite the usual issues you have in every big city related to the integration of immigrants, here citizens are very active organizing social activities to promote tolerance and integration.
So, in Barriera di Milano, you can find this small and cozy restaurant that is the perfect place if you are in the mood to eat good fish and the prices are also very good, considering the quality of the food you eat here.
When I go there, I like to start with some appetizers: my favorites are for sure the grilled octopus and the “Sarde in Saor”.
If you are in the mood for pasta, you should try the fresh one (I like the stuffed pasta with fish a lot) but the Tuna with the hazelnuts and caciuccio is also great.
The waiter is also one of the reason I like this place: he’s a kind and always-smiling man that will definitely help you with choosing. I’m not sure he can speak English, but Italians always find a way to communicate.
It's always better to book because it's often full!

You wait with your single falafel and hummus treat to tickle your appetite. I found that everything was very gently spiced, suitable for all tastes.
