Since the late 19th century this once family-run business keeps up the tradition of pastry-making, using the highest quality ingredients, and of catering and banqueting basing the service on flexibility in responding to the every need of its customers.
In Rosa Salva pastry shops you can always find fresh pastries, creams, cream puffs, trifles, baba, browse and tarts, traditional cakes or finely decorated cakes and refined sweets that are prepared for any event.
The business has three shops in the center of Venice (San Marco - Calle Fiubera, San Marco - Mercerie, Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo)and one in Mestre, and in each one of them you can find a nice cafè where you can enjoy your sweets with a good coffee, cappuccino or tea.
Moreover it delivers its specialities to many other cafès such as the one inside Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana (Pinault Collection) or Palazzo Franchetti (Campo Santo Stefano).
For me the best part of the year is doubtless Carnival because the counter and the shop window fill up with typical Venetian carnival pastries like frittelle, galani and castagnole, and during the rest of the year you can also find other typical pastries, like 'tirame su', baicoli to be eaten with zabaione or zaleti to be dipped in vin santo, and of course the panettone during Christmas time and soft buns around Easter.
