It's no secret that I love my hood. Especially on warm summer nights, when I'm up for taking a stroll along the Donaukanal or through Augarten and realize that a cold beer would be awesome. Hacienda is my all-time favorite, go-to neighborhood hang-out spot.
They have my favorite Zwickl (a type of beer) and, of course, all the usual stuff a bar has. But if you are into cocktails, you are in for a treat. They have mojitos and caipirinhas for an unbeatable price compared to the rest of Vienna. And delicious, I might add. I´m usually not into cocktails, but here I sometimes make an exception.
The food combines Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine – with enchiladas, fajitas, burritos, and tacos – but it is always freshly made, with fresh ingredients, and the portions are solid. They have some specials in the summertime, but in winter I can definitely recommend the chili. It will make you feel all warm and cozy.
It is small and cozy inside, but the warm weather season is when you can sit outside on the boardwalk and enjoy casual chats with locals, pet local dogs or simply sit, have some food, a drink, and be part of the hood.
