Herrengasse in the first district has recently become the most enchanting and interesting shopping street in the inner city. Famous for its superb ham, Viennese manufacturer Thum has opened a flagship store that boasts simple and hearty street food in the typical Viennese style. Try a “Schinkensemmel” (ham on a roll) with Kren (horseradish) and you are in for a real local treat. Wash it down with a tasty local brew Ottakringer and you are powered up to continue your exploration of the city.
