Some places just have a vibe which can’t be compared with any other. And if you have ever seen the movie Soul Kitchen, you probably sympathized with the idea of bringing new life to an abandoned warehouse space. But hey, no worries if you haven’t seen the movie – you can experience it in real life!
Tony Soprano will lead the way for you. I am dead serious. A huge statue of this iconic character is standing right at the entrance of the spot. Thus I am proud to present to you – Peronas. Which when translated from Lithuanian simply means – a train platform.
It’s not a coincidence that Peronas’ location is next to Vilnius train station. It’s a bar and an event space for the traveling souls. The aura in there is magic. At least for me. I was born in a small railway city, so I feel somewhat nostalgic when I hear the sound of trains pounding on the rails.
Listening to these noisy symphonies, seeing trains and people passing by with a glass of good beer in my palm has become an uncommon relaxation form for me. But don’t get me wrong – you can get a hell of a party in Peronas. I’ve done that too and believe me there’s more than enough taps of beer to bring the whole train station out of soberness.
Just pay them a visit and see what kind of a traveling soul lives in you – the calm romantic or the naughty night-crawler!
