Yards Park is in the Navy Yard neighborhood. I go there most Saturdays throughout the year to meet up with a run group.
What I like most about Yards Park is it's a place that has everything. There's a wide variety of bars and restaurants. There is also a local coffee shop and ice-cream parlors. If you're not in the mood for eating or drinking, there are some unique places to shop. You can get workout gear, buy a toy for your pets, or get a haircut.
I also like that there are things to do there if you don't want to spend money. Yards Park has a lot of excellent picturesque spots to sit and hang out. It's also a nice place to take a walk or to bring your dog (there's a dedicated dog park).
During the summer and early fall (July - October), this area can be busy as the local baseball team has its stadium close by. Even with that being the case, this is a laid-back place with a lot of options to take advantage of.
