Dublin has Guinness. New York City has Brooklyn Brewing. And DC has DC Brau. It isn't just a local beer. It's the local beer.
True to the city's governmental roots, many of DC Brau's beers have political names Citizen, Joint Resolution, and Corruption. My personal favorite is the Penn Quarter Porter. They have a slew of other seasonal and collaboration beverages that include hard seltzers and beers aged in whiskey barrels.
On weekends, you can go and hang out in the taproom. I like that there are plenty of tables to sit at and some board games that you can borrow (for free) while you're there. There's also an outdoor area when you can sit as well.
The brewery is relatively isolated, so if you're not driving, you'll want to get a ride there (e.g. Uber, Lyft, taxi, etc).
If you can't make it to the brewery itself, you can find DC Brau's beers at most restaurants, bars, and grocery stores in the DC area.
