Karaoke is one of my favorite things to do. Kostume Karaoke at Solly's is one of the places I like to go to most.
What is Kostume Karaoke? Every Thursday night from 20:00 to close, you can sign up to sing like regular karaoke except everyone that sings wears a costume while on stage. I've never been to any other karaoke place that does this. One of the things I enjoy most about this weekly event is the crowd. The folks that typically attend this event at Solly's are enthusiastic and engaged. It's not uncommon to see many of the same people come every week and bring a costume with them. If you can't bring a costume with you, the bar will have extra items you can borrow.
If you don't want to sing, you're welcome to just hang out and watch. If karaoke isn't your thing altogether, it's worth going to Solly's for the happy hour prices. Many places to eat and drink in DC can be expensive, so finding a fun place with cheap drinks is definitely worth the visit.
Solly's hosts several other evening events every week. They have stand-up comedy on Tuesdays, trivia on Wednesdays, and live music on Fridays.
