Life in DC would be much harder without Stoney's Lounge. Unarguably, this is the go-to neighborhood spot in the busy Logan circle area. This is my absolute favorite place to stop in for cold beer and bar food. Ask anyone from DC and they will tell you about the legendary grilled cheese sandwiches at Stoney's.
What made me a regular here is the "Super Grilled Cheese", which is amazing. Perfectly thick buttery bread, a plentiful amount of melted cheese, onion, tomato and crispy bacon - totally addictive and well worth the calorie splurge! They also make good wings and pizzas and have some solid beers on tap.
It's a great place to start the night or to end it, or just to hang out watching football or other sport. Yes, it's a dive bar, but a perfect one.
If you are looking for a comfortable, no frills bar that is full of locals, look no further than Stoney's. And please, do have the grilled cheese.
