Like the emperor from the famous fairytale, this brewery also got "new clothes" and was changed from old K pivovari to Pivana. The interior and the menu are completely different but that is not the only thing that's changed. I would say that in Pivana the emphasis is on live music, great beer, tasty food and a good night out with your friends.
The interior itself is typically beer house style, a little bit dark with high tables, gigantic bars and a stage for live performances. A big plus is the large terrace during warmer months when I enjoy spending my time drinking a beer after work. This is all very nice but I believe you are impatient to hear about the most important stuff at Pivana – beer and food. The new menu, compared to the old one, has been really simplified and offers typical, unpretentious beer house dishes. Ribs, sausages, steaks and my favorite – hamburgers! Although I like hamburgers before anything else, their glazed ribs in beer sauce are simply amazing and should not be missed under any circumstance.
The beer selection is limited to ones from Zagreb brewery but it is somehow logical given the fact that Pivana and Zagreb brewery are neighbors. Maybe you won't get a wide selection of exotic beers but their unfiltered beer Pivana is really tasty. In addition, you can drink it from your personal tap, sitting at a table which has a tap in the middle.
