About me
My name is Nina, and I have been living in my hometown of Zagreb my whole life. I love travelling and seeing new places, but I also love coming home.
I am a pharmacist by profession and enjoy my work at a community pharmacy. I also hold a license as a local tour guide for Zagreb and Zagreb County, and I love combining these two professions and showing people around the town through the eyes of a scientist or science enthusiast.
I also love reading, going to the cinema and taking short weekend trips with my family and friends.
Why Zagreb
I love Zagreb because it is a unique blend of central European architecture, a southern mentality and way of life, oriental love for sweets and delicacies and a vibrant atmosphere of a modern capital.
I think it has something to offer everyone, if they just know where to look.
Any time of the year is a great time to come and visit Zagreb. It has become well known for its beautiful advent (Christmas market and festival). Spring is when its many parks and gardens are at their most beautiful, and summer is the time when it is the least crowded. Autumn offers great opportunities for long walks and new plays at theaters as the new school and art season begins.
"Torte i To" in Zagreb offers a wide variety of pastry and desserts. The cheesecake is an obvious choice, as well as the Čokovišnja, or chococherry cake!

Zagreb is supposed to have been founded in the Middle Ages, but just to the south there used to be Roman Andautonia. These three relics are so fascinating!

"Reljef Seljaci" on Zagreb's main square is often overshadowed by the square's namesake statue, but this big relief has also been here for a century...

"Hrvatsko Narodno Kazalište HNK" (the National Theater in Zagreb) is Croatia's highest artistic institution. I especially like the view from the balcony...

"Stube Bartola Felbingera" Zagreb is a staircase that leads from Downtown to the Upper Town. Not many tourists come here, even though the views are great!

The "Vrapčak Promenade" is one of my favorite places in Zagerb to take a break from work, escape from the noise and the ever-spreading city landscape...
