At the southern exit of the station concourse, directly opposite the station square, there is a restaurant that is remarkable for several reasons.
It is easy to overlook as it is so perfectly integrated into the station building. But as soon as you enter, you notice the special atmosphere. The high-panelled ceilings and the kitchen positioned behind bright round arches give the room the aura of a university library or church. The furniture in light wood and dark green fabric reinforces this dignified character. Plenty of daylight enters the room through the floor-to-ceiling windows. There are small lamps in the shape of croissants on the marble tables.
The food in this restaurant is mentioned in guides of high gastronomy. I find it particularly suitable for coffee, breakfast and meetings in a cultivated atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive, and the breakfast menu leaves nothing to be desired. It is also very practical for you to reach the brasserie without leaving the building. Especially when it rains, which is often the case in the Zurich winter.
