I like my coffee straight up. No milk, no sugar, no frappés, no foams. That is why I was delighted to stumble across Café Noir one afternoon. The café itself is fairly small, with just a few tables inside and outside. The décor is unaffected and cosy. Mismatching wooden tables and chairs contrast nicely with a mirrored wall, pasted with striking posters.
The thing that really does the talking is the coffee. It's powerful, without being bitter and has that gorgeous creamy texture that you only get from coffee made with love. The fact that the beans are roasted here in Zürich only adds to its appeal!
They also sell sandwiches, pastries and chocolates (which I haven't yet tried), but it's the coffee that we're all really there for. Don't forget to pick up some of the beans to relive the 'Noir experience' in the comfort of your own home...
