As its name suggests the Kafi fürDich (Café for you) appeals to everyone. You’ll find students typing away on their laptops, movie-goers conversing about the latest Wes Anderson flick, Mothers discussing parenthood challenges with other Mothers (there’s a children’s play area) and pensioners tucked away in a corner reading newspapers. No wonder: they serve really good coffee, have a huge selection of excellent teas and a pleasing range of alcoholic drinks (including a nice selection of Swiss ‘Hummel Brände’ schnapps).
On Wednesdays and Fridays – starting at 20:30 – the lounge corner is transformed into a small stage where bands light up the place, while on Friday noon a local Jazz band a accompanies you while you eat your lunch. Speaking of food, the café serves nice small breakfasts, lunches and dinners, but it’s real strength is the weekend brunch: for a fixed price you get access to a scrumptious all-you-can-eat buffet – perfect to regain your strength from whatever you were up to the night before.
