Warm and cosy atmosphere, you will find at Kweer. And I didn’t come up with that only for the rhyme!
Even if the Kweer café/bar, as the place is now known only opened recently, in September 2022, it's dragging along a long history. Indeed, the place was, from the mid-50s until the end of the 20th century, seen as the place to be for the homosexual community. Even with the weight of the past success, the new tenant managed to revive the place beautifully and welcome again people from all over.
The space is big so you will easily find a spot to stay for a little while during the day. It is not unusual to find people working on their laptops as there is an internet connection that is provided as well, besides the comfortable seating and beautiful decoration. I personally experienced it mostly as a café, where I fell in love with their hot chocolate. Made from actual chocolate and not sugary powder, you will find the slight bitterness and strength of a good dark chocolate in foamy milk, I can only recommend it. Another feature that I enjoy is the library that can be moved, which enables them to split the space in two depending on the time of the day, changing completely the place in a second.
Whether you're looking for a spot to work from, to experience a good hot chocolate in Switzerland, or to go on a date, Kweer will always be the appropriate choice.
