Located just next to the Wipkingen railway station, this intimate little bar with its wooden interior and old cigarette stained walls (it’s non-smoking now) seems like a place from another, more quieter time and was an instant local favorite since its reopening in 2008. Though it’s hard to get a seat even during the week and it might require some eagle-eyed waiting around at the bar, once you’ve settled in, you can feel all your worries quietly drift away.
On weekends you’ll often find DJs spinning the tables or smaller bands performing their music while during the week smaller events like readings are held here from time to time. And there’s even a very enjoyable outside area – a great place for lapping up some sunbeams as well as watching people hurry past from the station.
Foodwise the bar offers a simple lunch during the week while on Sundays – between 10:00 and 14:30 – you can munch away at the all-you-can-eat buffet. Although best to reserve for that pleasure – you’re not the only hungry stomach in the area.
