The City Gardens can be seen as the little sister to the Botanical garden without losing its own charm. This place is a mix of open public areas and greenhouses used for horticulture by the city. Even though it is a bit outside the city center, I certainly recommend visiting the greenhouses, especially as they are open every day from 9 am to 5.30 pm!
Imagine you are walking in a tropical jungle with a little stream crossing your way and exotic birds screaming around. That is about what you can experience in the city gardens' greenhouses! The presence of exotic birds in one of them makes it particularly unique compared to the botanical garden. An adjacent building always hosts a small exhibition on a theme related to plants, gardens and society. In the small self-service plant shop, you can let yourself be tempted by one of their ornamental plants.
In the summer, the outside area is also worth a visit. You will find a beautiful collection of palms and agave in a sandy environment crossed by a water basin with some fishes. But also benches under a pergola holding kiwi plants. If all this didn’t seem lush enough, I would also mention the presence of a vegetable garden. Enjoy the trip and relax!
