“Wurst & Moritz” offers a modern take on traditional German and Swiss cuisine. As the name suggests, the focus is on “wurst,” which translates to sausage in English. The menu features various sausage specialities, including the Currywurst created exclusively for Wurst & Moritz, a veggie sausage, veal, and many more options.
The name is also a wordplay on the classic German comic “Max und Moritz”. The comic was first published in 1865, and the main story is about the mischievous adventures of two young boys, Max and Moritz. Both of them play a lot of pranks on other villagers but ultimately face funny or gruesome consequences.
The Wurst & Moritz restaurant created a very interesting and unique menu by adding references and characters from the “Max und Moritz” comic. My absolute favorite example is the “goldiger Moritz” menu, which includes a Currywurst with real gold, fries, and to top things off, a glass of Prosecco.
