Cafe Soundgarden was my first hangout in Amsterdam. This is where I first made friends on site, where I went for beers after work, where I met up with acquaintances  and, very important, where I played table football.Â
This pub feels like old-school rock spirit: wooden floors, a varied beer selection, bartenders in white sleeveless shirts, paintings on the wall depicting Sid Vicious & Iggy Pop, guitars and drums in the background. If rock is your thing, Soundgarden is your thing, and rock was my thing, in all its variations, from the most literal to the most subjective.Â
In the warmer season their terrace is open, and you have to picture yourself having a beer in the sun overlooking the canal in the most relaxed vibe: greenery all around, the boats passing by, the melody of chatter in different languages, like a little Babylon, and the smell of weed coming from god-knows-where. Oh, and a cat.
The universe conjures for good times at Soundgarden. So if rock is your thing, you know where to go.
