Noorderlicht café (Nothern Light in English) is an artistic restaurant, café, and cultural spot in Amsterdam Noord that's located in a greenhouse. The spot aims to contribute to a more sustainable environment, which is also visible in the interior.
You can visit Noorderlicht café to relax in the sunny garden, grab a drink or have a meal. Often, after dinner, the location transforms itself into a cultural venue and holds various events (check out their Facebook page for the latest program!). I really like when their outdoor fireplace is on, which gives a feeling of being in the countryside, while only being 15 minutes away from Central Amsterdam.
The lunch & dinner menu offers tasty dishes (different depending on the season) with an abundance for vegans and vegetarians! I found them to be full of flavor and very well seasoned. My latest favorite has been the vegan crunchy cauliflower.
To get there, you need to take the (free) ferry from Amsterdam Central Station and head to NDSM (about 15 minutes away). You can combine it with an afternoon to explore the area.
