I have been going to Hicret for as long as I can remember. It is in the area of the neighborhood I grew up in and they have been open since I was a kid. And when I used to work around the corner I would spend basically half my salary by getting lunch from them every. single. day.
Hicret is a Turkish bakery that sells amazing pastries and bread. Turkish bread was a staple in our household whenever we did a BBQ. But honestly, they have more amazing things. They have Borek, which is filo dough filled with feta cheese and spinach. They also have Pide, which is an open bread shaped like an eye and they have different fillings: egg and minced meat, feta and spinach, or bell peppers and feta cheese.
If you are really hungry you can also go for their Turkish pizza, which is visible in the picture. They mix it with veggies and sauces and meat is optional. To be really honest, I never get my Turkish pizza from here, but I really come for the other things they have. The owner is also really nice and he always waves at me whenever I walk past the bakery, so even when I don't come in to buy anything he is very nice and I love that!
Disclaimer: You can't sit down and eat here. But if you walk for 1 minute you can sit in front of Bakkerij Ulmus and Midwest and eat there.
