The first time I tasted one of the bites from SUE was a couple of years ago. Inside the store, it looked like there had been a color explosion of different types of small cheesecakes. After going through all the options, which there were a LOT of, I picked one. The woman selling me the pastry told me the bite was completely vegan, sugar- and gluten-free. She left me flabbergasted. The bite definitely tasted sweet. This meant we could be eating pastries without feeling guilty!
Their store is located on the Elandsgracht in the middle of the Jordaan. You can find their signature ‘Bites’ in the store. These bites are square-shaped pastries and they come in about twenty different flavours, such as matcha latte, lime and tiramisu. Next to these bites you can also find an abundance of cookies, homemade granola bars, banana bread, chocolate-date truffle balls and many more delicious pastries.
If you are walking in the Jordaan and are craving a delicious snack, go to SUE. I recommend ordering the sharebox - a box filled with 16 mini, randomly composed bites. This means you will have multiple different flavours to try. Pick up the sharebox and something to drink and find a nice spot where you can sit, looking over the canals and enjoy the flavour explosion. An afternoon well spent I’d say!
