As the city’s canals attract many tourists like bees to honey, it can sometimes be hard to find a place that’s truly great and not just another tourist trap. That’s why I was more than thrilled to find Lotti’s Bar & Grill in the Hoxton hotel in Amsterdam (or as some like to call it, ‘The Hox’).
You can find the Hoxton on the Herengracht, close to Dam square, with Lotti’s at the ground floor. It might feel intimidating to visit a hotel while not staying there but at Lotti’s, that’s nothing to worry about. And luckily so, because its interior is something I would want everyone to see. With warm colors, vintage vibes and even a fireplace, this is one of the coziest places to hang out after a day of shopping. Or, as I like to do, to settle down with my laptop and use it as an office for the day. Because at Lotti’s, they actually welcome you to work there, which results in many cozy nooks, power sockets and long tables.
Combined with great coffee (iced vanilla lattes!) and lunch (avocado toast, eggs benny and truffle fries!), there’s really no reason to leave.
