Amsterdam loves its coffee. The city almost has an equal amount of coffee shops as it has bicycles and you’ll spot any city dweller holding a hot steaming cup of coffee anywhere you go. And with the number of coffee spots growing, the coffee knowledge – or snobbery – is growing too. Because no, not every cup of joe is the same. And uncommon (what’s in a name?) in Amsterdam knows this all too well.
Besides the highest quality sustainable – and all slightly uncommon – roasts, matcha, and teas, there’s another thing that this place understood well. And that’s interior. This café is so aesthetically pleasing it hurts. In a good way, that is. With the soft beige concrete bar matching perfectly with the beige walls and wooden furniture and shelves. It has this sophisticated Scandinavian feel to it and one would be more than happy to just sit there and take it all in. And while doing so, don’t forget to order one of the amazing lunch dishes. Because just like the coffee, the dishes are all a bit uncommon with new products by small businesses to encourage curiosity.
