Filion is not just a café; it is more like a symbol for the Kolonaki district, one of the oldest, wealthiest and most prestigious areas in Athens. However, Filion is the place where people from different financial and cultural backgrounds meet in order to start interesting conversations about politics, arts and culture. Journalists, politicians, writers and artists are among the regulars at this small café, which is located right next to a beautiful 19th century Greek Orthodox Church.

I remember my father telling me stories about how Dolce, this is what Filion was called a few years ago, was the place where political parties were formed, enemies were born and great love stories began and ended. Every aspect of life is being explored and analysed over a cup of Greek/Turkish coffee.
