We first visited Kitschen with Marilena in early 2022. "A cool new Asian place in Piraeus, where there are hardly any truly cool new places to be found! We have to try it!" I was so inspired by visiting it, it actually made me start learning Japanese (yes, really - I realized on the spot that I really wanted to learn how to read these cryptic ideograms and actually order in Japanese one day).
Nestled in a quiet, perfectly ordinary sidestreet practically next to the busy cruise ship terminal in the port, Kitschen's mysterious location is part of its enduring allure.
Once you enter, you will be amazed by the Japanese-cool decoration, especially by the huge blue mural with the 3D elements and the pink circle. The sign over the bar was custom ordered from Japan, as the owners wanted to make extra sure that the coolness would be authentic. And to be honest, I can't imagine that a trendy, creative izakaya in Tokyo or Seoul could get the flavors and the style down much better than they do in Kitschen.
The cauliflower tempura has made fans of people who hate cauliflower - we always get it and never get enough of it. Likewise the kimchi. You should also try the spicy edamame. Get a cocktail, a main dish with fish (don't sleep on their daily fish specials), meat, and some sushi to share - congratulations, you've just created the perfect evening for yourself. Enjoy.
Check out their Instagram page as well.

Shedia is heavily focused on sustainability and inclusivity: pets have their own menu, the menu is also offered in Braille, and the oil used is produced by the Niarchos park trees and then recycled.

Teras is full of contradictions: it is unconventionally named (teras means 'monster' in greek) in an ugly way but it is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy your drink.

I've been here with friends and they've all been amazed at the low prices, cool vibe and '90s memorabilia. Even the cocktails are named after Pokemon!

Although Kalos Aeras is located on a busy road, there is no noise penetrating the leafy veranda, and stepping into the house is like time-traveling back to the 60s.

Plateia Proskopon is surely not as hip as Plateia Varnava or other spots in Pagrati but has a unique atmosphere.
