Line is located in Kato Petralona, a residential, quiet neighborhood, not renowned for its nightlife in contrast to Ano Petralona (roughly translated as Lower/Upper Petralona, respectively). The place is located in a small street where an art gallery was based. There is a small leafy courtyard before entering Line but the highlight is the imposing industrial space.
The team behind Line is big on sustainability, therefore, any "leftovers" from the kitchen are recycled into wine or syrup. The innovation found in Line is the why-in, meaning the grapeless wine which is produced via the same process as traditional wines, but fruit, such as figs or pomegranate, is used in the place of grapes. The why-ins taste intensely and uniquely. Line experiments with fermentation on the premises, producing beer and tasty sourdough bread. Of course, coffee and cocktails are also served and there is a carefully designed food menu with conventional or less conventional dishes such as the buns made with squid ink or seaweed. Drinking and dining in Line will be an experience worth remembering.
