Nolan is a modern Japanese fusion restaurant in the heart of Athens and is by far one of my favourites. If you have a few days in the city and want to not only taste food but also have a gastro experience, Nolan is the place.
But what makes Nolan so special? The food is a mixture of Greek and Japanese food, as the chef comes from both countries. So he makes great combinations of fresh, special ingredients in order to make his dishes.
When we first visited, there were 5 of us, so we chose 10 different plates, and this is how Nolan works. It is better if there are many of you so you have the chance to taste more. That day, we tried a great salmon dish with spaghetti with tahini sauce, an amazing cauliflower with blue cheese, a cod burger with avocado sauce, an amazing salad with noodles and octopus, a strange mixture of cheese cream and basturma (Armenian charcuterie), and a few more plates that I won't write so you can discover them by yourself! For dessert, you can choose from a variety of special sweets.
Also, one of the things I liked a lot was that the people that work at Nolan are friendly and helpful and not snobbish at all!
Please note that if you want to visit, you have to make a reservation a few weeks in advance.
P.S. Don’t forget to visit Nolan's pastry shop next door!
