It is Saturday morning around 12 o'clock. Where am I? With 99% certainty (if not away for holidays) you will find me and my family shopping the groceries of the week at the organic market here in Patissia.
Of course I am not telling you about just any organic market. What is really special about this one is the place hosting it and its history. First off a quick description. An old house (used to be the holiday mansion of a rich family living in Athens - yes Patissia was for going on vacation back then!) and its beautiful garden (the jungle as I call it -- loads of trees and animals). And a little bit more about its recent history: nowadays it functions as a squat. The people occupying the house are actually the neighbours that would not let the state demolish the house back in 1989.
Anyways, besides the fantastic location, the organic market is special, too. It's just a few farmers (7 or 8 actually) and everyone is very very nice. We always grab a coffee from a coffee house nearby and spend a couple of hours there, so it's definitely not only a shopping experience!

Teras is full of contradictions: it is unconventionally named (teras means 'monster' in greek) in an ugly way but it is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy your drink.
