If you have finished your walks around the Acropolis and the Acropolis' museum and want to make a walk around to catch up the feeling of the real, modern life of Athens, just take a walk at Veikou Street at Koukaki.
Veikou is a 4-minute walk from the Acropolis museum and there you will find restaurants, bike stores, lots of laundrettes and also stores with handmade jewellery. Among them, the one I like most is "Psit Jewellery".
The most characteristic thing about this shop is its owner, Katerina! Katerina is a punk rocker girl. Every time I see her hair is a different color! She is such a creative person -- she makes enamel jewellery made all by herself. You can also visit her blog at crazyathens.tumblr.com.
At Psit, you can find great pairs of earrings for your girlfriend in lots of different amazing colours! Apart from her jewelery, you can also find special notebooks for your morning pages or your daily notes! Once, I bought a "tattoo," and I was really proud of having a children's tattoo on me. When you visit Psit, you can understand why I like this place: it has such a colourful and vivid vibe!
PS: Psit is the sound we make in Greece when we call a cat to come close to us! Whoever is a friend of cats is also a friend of mine.
