Looking for tasty Greek food at a reasonable price? Here is your spot! Seychelles (Σεϋχέλλες) is a great choice in Athens. It is located in the neighborhood of Keramikos nearby the Metaxourgio metro station. This place was formerly called Bahamas and operated as a coffee shop. Anyway, it's now the reason for my extra kilos...
The owners have maintained the old decoration of this 100-year-old building and you will see several details such as the retro tiles and refrigerator. This spot is a tavern with very delicious food but also has a bar where you can drink delicious cocktails. Located in the same room is the kitchen, so everyone is part of the company.
Dishes are made with ingredients from around Greece like cheese from the Aegean islands, smoked meat from northern Greece. Everything is fresh and you will smell it while you wait for your order. My favourites are the smoked meat (called apaki) with mushrooms, manoura cheese from Kimolos island, grilled liver and rice with porcini mushrooms. But whatever you order you will taste the freshness and the finest cooking.
Look for Seychelles and avoid eating junk food one more time, because here the value for money is good and you will leave with your stomach happy and a smiley face.
