Yellow Café, out of nowhere, has become one of the places in the city where I go when nothing else comes up or when I want to visit something familiar and focus on something I don't usually look for when I leave the comfort of my home: a place to sit down and do some work.
Yes, Yellow is one of the rare places in Athens, which has become well-known as a space for productivity. The wooden tables and chairs, as well as the study lamps, all create a very particular kind of atmosphere that lets creativity and concentration flow. What's best about it? Most times I was there reading, working on my laptop or doing something quiet and solitary, everybody around me was doing the same, so there was a kind of silent communion between ourselves. Students working on their project, people relaxing while reading a book... There are some tables outside for people who aren't so much in the reading mood, but it's the inside that has me coming back for more!
Yellow Café, apart from being an excellent study place, doubles as an espresso bar. They get their coffee from a superb supplier and for the price and types of coffee on offer you really cannot go wrong.
You will find this great spot in Panormou, less than 5 minutes from the metro station and a stone's throw from Playce and The Wee Dram.
